Katrina Thaler Medeiros received her undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont and received her law degree, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1999. While at law school, Ms. Medeiros was a CIVITAS ChildLaw Fellow and the Editor-In-Chief of the Children’s Legal Rights Journal. She was admitted to the Bar in the State of New York in January, 2000, and to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in December, 1999. Ms. Medeiros is also admitted in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. From 2000-2001, Ms. Medeiros was the Chief Law Clerk of the Massachusetts Juvenile Court. After leaving the Juvenile Court, Ms. Medeiros practiced with the law firm of Doherty, Ciechanowski, Dugan & Cannon, P. C., in Foxboro, Massachusetts, in the areas of domestic relations, estate administration and litigation, child law, contracts, general litigation, and real estate. Ms. Medeiros relocated to Ithaca, New York, in January of 2004.
Prior to attending law school, from 1994 to 1996, Ms. Medeiros was the Human Services Legislative Coordinator for U.S. Senator James M. Jeffords of Vermont, and also worked for the US Senate Budget Committee in Washington D.C. Ms. Medeiros is a member of the New York State Bar Association, and the Tompkins County Bar Association (where she presently serves on the Board of Directors). Ms. Medeiros’ practice concentrates in residential and commercial real estate, corporate and commercial law, and family and juvenile law.
